Petroleum Academy was established in Johor, Malaysia

Nusajaya March 27 - In an effort to ensure the demand of skilled manpower in the oil and gas (O&G) can be met soon , a skills center called the Malaysian Petroleum Academy ( Academy ) will be set up in Johor .

The establishment of the Academy that will focus on offering vocational courses was sealed through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU ) between Prestariang Technology Sdn . Limited . ( PTSB ) and Yayasan Pelajaran Johor Holdings Sdn. Bhd. (YPJH)


MoU between PTSB , a subsidiary Prestariang Berhad. ( Prestariang ) and YPJH , an investment arm owned Johor Education Foundation (YPJ) was witnessed Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin here today.


PTSB represented Prestariang CEO , Dr . Abu Hasan Ismail and chief financial officer, Abdul Razak Bakrun and CEO assignment , Hamsan Saringat and General Manager of its Financial , represents YPJH Zainuddin Othman .


Under the MoU, a joint venture company in developing , operates and manages the Academy to be set up with their positions PTSB ( 70 percent ) and YPJH ( 30 percent ) and is expected to be realized within the next six months.


Mohamed Khaled said the establishment of the Academy is accurate especially to produce more skilled workers to meet the demands of the O & G sector, which is currently being actively developed the hub in Pengerang .


I believe in the existence of the future
academy to meet the needs of the industry in certain areas required to produce workers of the sector such as welders and scaffolding , "he said at a news conference .


In the meantime, Abu Hasan said that through the joint efforts of the Academy is expected to start its first intake in mid- May , targeting 1,000 people before increased to 2,000 and 3,000 respectively in the following year .
